A LAKE District church celebrated its first eco-themed flower festival.
Visitors were invited to admire ecological flower displays, promoting themes such as recycling, local produce and saving water, created by worshippers at St Michael and All Angels Church, Hawkshead.
"The festival is to support the development and outreach of the eco church scheme, as well as celebrating and caring for God's Earth," Joyce Hallam, a member of the parish church committee, who came up with the festival idea, said. "I'm so delighted with the displays. People have come up with fantastic ideas."
St Michael's is taking part in the eco church scheme, where places of worship gain points in different areas, including the green management of buildings and land.
The festival is also raising funds to repair the clock tower, the oldest part in the grade one listed building.
The flower festival runs until tomorrow (June 2), and visitors have a chance to make a donation towards the church tower fund.
