A RESPECTED Cumbrian solicitor, Roger Broady, is taking a well-earned retirement from Kendal based Temple Heelis Solicitors.
Mr Broady has been with the firm for nearly 40 years and during this time he gained an enviable reputation for the quality of his work representing clients in a wide range of personal and commercial disputes.
He was president of the local Westmorland Law Society and president of the Association of North Western Law Societies, representing solicitors across Cumbria, Lancashire, Cheshire and North Wales.
Beginning his career at Walker Smith Way where he qualified as a solicitor, he joined Temple & Bargh, as the firm was then known, in August 1977.
He became a partner in 1979 and senior partner in 1989.
Managing partner, Richard Moore said: "Roger has spent many years serving people across Cumbria and he will be greatly missed by all at Temple Heelis."
Mr Broady is a great cricket fan and wine lover, as well as a keen golfer - something he will be making more time for in his retirement.
"I’ve been planning my retirement for some time, and though it’s sad to leave the firm I’m looking forward to spending time with family and playing more golf!" he said.
The firm’s dispute resolution service is now headed by Richard Moore and John Sim. The department will be launching a range of new fixed fee commercial services in April.
