AN OVERHEATED axle caused a lorry to caught fire on the M6 last night.
Firefighters were called at 3.14am to a vehicle on fire between junctions 39 to 40 on the northbound M6.

The crew found an articulated lorry well alight and used two hose reels to extinguish the flames.
The driver was not injured.
Fire crews attended from Penrith and Lazonby.
