A DECISION to refuse plans to replace old garages in Horton-in-Ribblesdale with a bungalow has been upheld by a government planning inspector.
An application to demolish the three disused, precast concrete garages to the rear of Cragg Hill Road, was refused last June by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.

The decision has now been backed by a government inspector following a site visit on December 12.
In her decision letter, Caroline Jones said the main issues were the effect of the proposed development on the living conditions of neighbours.
She concluded living conditions of neighbours would be ‘materially harmed’ and that there would not be adequate living conditions for future occupiers.
