GIGGLESWICK Junior School has a visit from Alpasta the alpaca, two Mediterranean mini donkeys, two Angora goats and Robbie the rabbit.
The animals visited from Hart Farm – a charity that provides animals for therapeutic benefits to children who are coping with difficult situations, such as illness, disabilities and bereavement.
During the visit, a reading of the charity’s latest book, Tales of Tails, also took place.
Head of Early Years Julie Middleton said: "You could tell the animals are used to working with children – they behaved impeccably.
"It was very kind of Hart Farm to pay us all a visit and we really enjoyed hearing the story, especially the one about Monty the donkey’s first Christmas."
Tale of Tails is one of four books published by the charity. The books are written for children aged between three and seven, and any profits from sales go to the Hart Farm to help pay for food, bedding, veterinary fees and travel.
