A TEAM from a company based in Settle has raised thousands of pounds for brain tumour research by completing the Three Peaks Challenge in well under 24 hours.
Staff of J W Garnett Electrical Ltd joined family and friends to raise more than £6,000 in memory of Andrew Metcalfe, who died from a brain tumour at the age of 32.
The nine-strong team scaled the three peaks of Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pile in England and Snowdon in Wales in just over 22 hours. They walked a total distance of 26 miles and drove 492 miles between climbs.
The company's Jennie Moor said: “Our team was made up of members of staff, family members and friends, some of whom knew Andrew, but all of us wanted to help fund the fight against this vicious disease.
“We are happy to have raised £6,292 for brain tumour research knowing they will put it into dedicated and sustainable research, bringing us closer to a cure.”
