DURING the storms at the end of 2015 a number of businesses on Kendal’s industrial estates suffered from flood damage. Five months on and those affected have repaired the damage and all are open for business as usual.
A wide variety of vibrant retailers and service providers have their premises across the different industrial estates in Kendal, which include Mintsfeet, Beezon Road, Dockray Hall and the Riverside Business Park on Natland Road.
On Mintsfeet Industrial Estate Triple D Motorsports, the Lakeland Car Centre and Furmanite UK have all now weathered the storm. Other retailers on the estate include Todds the Saddlers, Howden’s Joinery, Furmanite, Screwfix, the Lakeland Tile and Bathroom shop and car dealerships Cumbria Suzuki and the Lakeland Car Centre.
On the Beezon Road estate there’s a large Homebase store, Wheel-tech tyre dealers, various garage and auto parts suppliers and Complete Documents Solutions office supplies.
On Dockray Hall retailers include quality carpets, furniture, bathrooms and kitchens, an antiques emporium and a centre selling recycled and upcycled furniture, furnishings and objects for the home.
Kendal town and its industrial and retail parks has more than its fair share of independent and family-run retailers and service providers, so shoppers can delight at the wealth of goods on offer that are not available on the average high street.
The industrial estates are easy to get to and they all offer free parking for customers.
All of the shops, restaurants, pubs and hotels in Kendal town are starting to pick up trade as more people return to this vibrant market town to enjoy retail experiences. The attractions including the Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal Museum, Quaker Tapestry and Abbot Hall Art Gallery and Museum are also open offering a diverse range of cultural experiences.
Business owners are hoping that locals and visitors will continue to eat, shop and relax in Kendal and help to contribute to the local economy.
