A free-entry community country fayre returns to Casterton on Saturday, June 11, with all activities for children available for no charge.
Gates to the event open at 10am and close at 4pm. Parking is available in a neighbouring field for a £5 charge, proceeds from which will be donated to Farms for City Children, a charity offering children from deprived inner city areas an opportunity to spend time working with animals on farms.
Event organiser Eloise Slack, at Casterton Sedbergh Preparatory School, said: “This not-for-profit event proved a huge success last year and promises to be even bigger and better this year.
"Indoor and outdoor events include a cooking demonstration with Kirkby Lonsdale’s The Sun Inn, a rifle shooting range, fun dog show, tug of war, welly-wanging, archery, climbing wall, bungee trampolines, old fashioned swing boats, birds of prey, alpacas and pony rides.
"The success of last year’s fayre meant we have expanded the range of activities and foodie stalls this year, and it is set to be a fantastic family day with free activities. We know how frustrating it is for parents to pay an entrance fee and then to have to pay for activities on top of that – this is all about making it an enjoyable, stress-free day for the whole family, not just the children.”
Food stands include Howgills Ice Cream, Mansergh Hall, Top That Wood Fire Pizza, Fish & Chip van, Pimms stall, Lancaster Brewery, Evie’s Crepes and Waffles, Love Cheesecakes and The French Corner. Gift and Home stalls include Stella & Dot, Emma Patchett, No.6 Finkle Street and Shepherdess Tweed.
Entertainer Mr Stix will be running comedy shows featuring audience participation, magic, music and balloon modelling at 11am, noon, 1.30pm and 2.30pm, and professional face painter Cat will be attending, too. A crèche service will be offered by The Mulberry Bush Nursery.
