A MAJOR web-based information campaign to promote food safety goes live next week.
Cumbria's six district councils have combined in a bid to drive up hygiene standards across a wide range of food handling businesses.
From Monday - which is the start of National Food Safety Week - all six councils will load information about food hygiene inspections carried out since January 1, 2007 onto a national Scores on the Doors' website aimed at promoting good practice within the food industry.
Anyone will be able to log onto the website and find out how Cumbria's food business operators rate against legal requirements.
People will be able to access the website at www.scoresonthedoors.org.uk or via LINKS from their local council's website. A rating certificate will also be issued to businesses for display on their premises.
