Children are being asked to think about what Respect means to them as part of Cumbria Constabulary's annual poster competition.
Year four and five pupils from schools across the county are being encouraged to illustrate Respect in their family, community, school and amongst their friends, in a poster.
Four winners from each area (North, West and South) will be selected for inclusion on a specially produced 2008 Cumbria Constabulary calendar. An overall winner will be selected from the area winners.
Last year the competition was hailed a great success after over 460 entries were received from schools all over Cumbria.
The deadline for poster entries this year is Friday 20 July 2007.
Assistant Chief Constable (Operations) Graham Sunderland said: "The Respect Campaign aims to tackle anti-social behaviour to create safer, stronger communities in Cumbria. Schools and young people have a key part to play in this. They can help promote consideration for others, recognition that we all have responsibilities as well as rights, civility and good manners.
"We hope that this competition will help young people think about these issues that are central to safer communities. What's more, in the calendar that is being produced they have the opportunity to shape the attitudes of others."
