ALLITHWAITE and Cartmel Women's Institute's annual spring fair on Saturday was a rip-roaring success and raised £800 for funds.
Among the invited guests were sisters from Boarbank Hall, Allithwaite, WI members fromf Newton and Field Broughton, Lower Holker and Grange as well as county chairman Ruth Rigg and WI advisor and former chairman Noreen Leese.
Bright and inviting stalls filled Allithwaite Village Hall and they were decorated with bunting made by member Wendy Graham. The plant and cake stalls did a good trade while the tombola tempted people to try their luck.
There was opportunity to obtain novels and reference books from the many on offer on " The Good Read Bar." Local businesses had provided some of the raffle prizes and outside an accordion player entertained with Scottish music.
