PLANS for three new pitches for touring caravans at New Barns Caravan Park, near Arnside, met with approval by South Lakeland District Council.
Twelve existing touring pitches can also be kept, planners decided, provided the park's owners plant a 38m hedge along the eastern boundary.
Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty raised concerns about the park expanding, but Arnside Parish Council posed no objections. A neighbour told SLDC that the 'well run' park was a 'business worth supporting'.
