THE SUMATRAN tiger that mauled a young zoo keeper to death has died, the Dalton-in-Furness wildlife park has announced.
Sarah McClay, 24, was killed by the endangered tiger, called Padang, in May 2013 as she worked at the Safari Zoo.
The zoo announced the death of Padang on its Facebook page and licence holder David Gill confirmed it was the animal involved in the 2013 incident.

He had to be put down following complications arising due to his old age, the zoo stated as part of the announcement.
Sixteen-year-old Padang had been at the South Lakes Safari Zoo since 2003 as a second-generation Sumatran as part of the European Endangered Species breeding programme.
The zoo has been involved in the captive breeding of Sumatran tigers for almost 20 years.
