SEVERAL Dales screenings have been organised of Alan Bennett's film, The Lady in the Van.
It tells the true story of the relationship between the playwright and Miss Shepherd (played by Maggie Smith), a woman of uncertain origins who parked her van in his London driveway and proceeded to live there for 15 years.
And Mr Bennett will introduce the screening at St James' Church, Clapham, on Saturday, April 16, from 7.30pm.

It has been organised by the Ribblesdale Area Moving Picture Show (TRAMPS) and tickets, priced at £10, are available from Sue Mann on 015242 51792 or at Clapham Village Store.
Proceeds will be split between TRAMPS, Clapham Village Hall and St James' Church.
But, the film will also be shown at Carleton Village Hall on Easter Sunday at 7.30pm - admission is £4 at the door - and at Kettlewell Village Hall next Saturday, April 2, also at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £2.50 for children and are available from kwellvillagehall@aol.com Back
