The camp of gypsies and travellers that was staying at Ferry Nab car park has moved on after being served a written notice by the council.
Eight caravans and nine motor vehicles were reported to have arrived at the site on Sunday morning.
On Monday, South Lakeland District Council, which owns the car park, issued a verbal notice requiring them to leave within 48 hours.
