Youngsters will be able to get hands on Saturday (March 19) when Newton Rigg College, near Penrith, opens its gates for the annual Countryside Day event.
Hundreds of visitors are expected to the family fun day out. They will have the chance to enjoy a wide range of activities, as well as getting an insight into lambing at the college's Sewborwens Farm, where students and staff will be on hand to explain sheep husbandry.

Elsewhere there will be a wide range of activities, including a fun dog show, game-keeping displays, riding and falconry displays and demonstrations by Cumbria Beagles, small animal-handling, children's arts and crafts activities and plenty of sports fun, including a climbing wall.
There will also be the opportunity to learn more about the extensive range of courses available at the college.
The event is free and runs from 10am until 4pm. There will be a shuttle service to and from Sewborwens Farm. Parking is free.
