OFFICERS and councillors could be asked to share cars in order to help reduce the amount of energy consumed by the council.
Cumbria County Council's environment scrutiny committee has made a series of recommendations to the Cabinet which are designed to reduce the council's carbon footprint.
The proposals include the introduction of an incentive scheme to encourage car-sharing for both members and officers and reducing the number of individual journeys made by staff in the course of their duties.
