AN ULVERSTON firm is celebrating after helping to develop what it claims is the world's first ever iPod jukebox.
Designers at Forge Europa, which is based at The Old Railway in Princes Street, designed and produced customised colour-scheme lighting for the ground-breaking product, which allows music fans to plug in their iPods to a specially-designed jukebox dock, rather than filling it with CDs, or, as is more traditional, records.
The electronics company joined forces with Leeds-based Sound Leisure for the project.
Spokesperson Julie Barton said: "What makes this beautiful jukebox so special is the combination of its iconic design with the latest in LED technology. Forge Europa has replaced the traditional light tubes, by designing in stunning, long-life environmentally-friendly LED lighting which can customise the colour scheme to suit any room, or mood."
