A CHEQUE for £500 has been given to Kendal Mountain Rescue Team for the part they played in helping the town during the December floods.
On the afternoon of the floods, Brigantes Lodge No. 9734 was due to hold its regular meeting at the Masonic Hall, in Station Road – but the decision was made to abandon the meeting.

Members from all over the North West and even some from the North East had to be contacted and advised not to travel to Kendal.
Brigantes Lodge have since received many donations from lodges in Glasgow, South Shields and as far away as Worcestershire.
A donation of £435 from the members of Elmley Castle Lodge No. 6247 was sent to Brigantes Lodge with a request that it be used in connection with the floods in Kendal. An anonymous donation of £65 was also made.
