MEMBERS of Langdale/Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team had a busy bank holiday Saturday, (May 27) when they attended two consecutive incidents.
In the first incident, at around 3.30pm, 12 members of the team were called out to help a walker who had fallen ten feet from a path above Stickle Tarn.
The man, from the West Midlands had fallen from Bright Beck path, suffering a head injury and bruises to his body. But he was well enough to walk after treatment.
Another male member of the group, needed attention for cuts and bruises, which he sustained trying to stop the first casualty from falling.
They were escorted to the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel by the team, from where they made their own way to Westmorland General Hospital.
While still in the car park near the hotel, the team also helped a four-year-old boy from London, who had severed his finger at the tip.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmorland General Hospital by mountain rescue ambulance.
