From Carnforth to Ravenglass and back, folly will be taking its successful Pocket Movie Making Workshops on the rail network this Bank Holiday Monday.
The Pocket Movie Making workshops are a chance for beginner members of the public to make their very own short film on a mobile phone.
On this occasion, folly will be working with passengers on the special all-day train excursion. The film-making is free but the special train journey needs to be booked in advance via www.kingfisherrailtours.co.uk Departing at 10.12am, members of the folly team will work with passengers on the Cumbrian Coast Dalesman to shoot, edit and screen a short film inspired by the stunning coastal scenery and the magnificent steam locomotive that will haul the carriages.
The film script has been inspired by Brief Encounter, and passengers will have the chance to be both in front and behind the camera during the journey. All they need is a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone that can shoot video. The finished film will be screened in the Furness & Midland Hall at Carnforth Station once the train arrives back at 5.20pm. The film will also be made available to download on the folly website on Tuesday 29th May 2007.
The next FREE Pocket Movie Making workshop will be on Saturday 21st July at Carnforth railway station.
