Kendal bowling club given grant to repair flood damage
ABBOT Hall Bowling Club in Kendal has been awarded £3,385 of National Lottery funding from Sport England’s Flood Relief Fund to repair its club huts and replace contents badly damaged as a result of Storm Desmond.
The bowling club will use the award to reinstate the electricity supply, replace a damaged storage hut, repair key equipment used in the maintenance of the bowling green and refurbish the inside of the club huts following damaged by the flooding.
Chairman Martin Scarborough said: "We are delighted that Sport England has awarded this funding to us which will allow us to repair and re-open our bowling club so that the community can once more benefit from these fantastic facilities."
