THE first information on the programme for Kendal's brand new international street arts festival, Mintfest, has been released. Taking place over the last weekend of the summer holidays, August 31, to September 2, Mintfest will include more that 40 acts from across the UK, Europe and further afield - including two UK debuts from Japan and Canada.
Gooseholme Park will be the venue for the only Cumbrian performances by IOU Theatre on their international tour with their new show Waylaid. The audience will be cocooned within an igloo-like dome, equipped with their own personal stereo and taken on a funny, disturbing and moving journey.
Mintfest has just commissioned world-renowned performance artist Tres, from Barcelona, to create a Concert of Silence for Kendal Castle to take place on Saturday, September 1, at midnight.
