A MAJOR conference to consider the future skills needs of Cumbria's workforce is to be held next week.
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and Cumbria Chamber of Commerce and Industry have teamed up to organise the event, which will take place at the North Lakes Hotel, Penrith, on Tuesday, May 22, from 10am.
Speakers will include Robert Jelly, CIMA director of education; Graham Lamont, chairman of Cumbria Learning and Skills Council, and Dr Lis Smith, director of skills at the North West Development Agency, which is sponsoring the free event.
