A TRUCK stop off the M6 has unveiled a £500,000 upgrade that should benefit both long distance lorry drivers and local people.
Junction 38 Services, at Tebay, has been transformed to provide a village shop for locals who will no longer have to go further afield to buy household essentials.
A pay point will shortly open to allow villagers to pay household bills, and Junction 38 is also an official bus terminal, allowing residents to catch a daily bus service to Lancashire and the North East.
For the thousands of truckers who use the services every year, improvements include resurfacing the car park, putting security barriers in place and installing extensive lighting and CCTV cameras.
