A TRADITIONAL Lakeland dairyfarm could help draw new businesses and jobs to South Lakeland if plans for its transformation into an office development are approved.
Moss End Farm, at Crooklands, near Kendal, is the subject of commercial redevelopment plans that could see it converted into 42,000 square feet of new office space.
The new owner of the farm, Lancaster-based property development business Time and Tide, hopes it will help stem a shortage of office space in the area, encourage new IT-based companies to relocate to South Lakeland and create employment opportunities.
If planning permission is granted by members of South Lakeland District Council this summer, the development would see a Grade II listed existing barn, built between 1857 and 1899, converted into five units as well as seven newly-built, two-storey units on the site.
