A POLICE inspector told members of Lakes Parish Council that crime in Ambleside had increased by nine per cent in 2007.
But Inspector Tudor Griffiths added that the figures were still low in comparison with incidents in Windermere and regional and national crime figures.
He said that a small minority were responsible for youth disorder, with parents contacted to collect children off the streets when necessary.
