Changes to policing in Cumbria should not have a great impact in Ulverston in the short term future, according to the town inspector.
Insp Richard Vernon told Ulverston Town Council that he was hopeful that the restructure of the force - recently announced by the chief constable, Michael Baxter - which would see the force losing 70 officers while gaining 105 Police Community Support Officers in the process, would not alter the standard of policing in the town and surrounding area.
