PROUD Peter McGuigan insists that Morecambe will not be League Two whipping boys if the Shrimps go up.
The chairman is aware that clubs are finding it increasingly difficult to cope after elevation from the Conference, with Accrington's season of turmoil the latest example.
But McGuigan says: "We will have the infrastructure in place if we go up. We are conscious of the fact that teams have struggled after winning promotion.
"We are confident that we can break that trend."
