CUMBRIA Police is leading the way in promoting gender equality in the workplace.
The Gender Equality Duty, the biggest change in gender legislation for 30 years, is designed to give men, women and transgender people equality at work.
It means that all police authorities will have a duty to take action to eliminate sex discrimination and harassment in the work place.
To achieve this, both the constabulary and Cumbria Police Authority have developed their first Gender Equality Schemes, which set out how they intend to promote equality in the workplace and in the wider community over the next three years.
