THE Cumbria Soaring Club - which represents 240 pilots from the county and all parts of the country who fly paragliders and hang-gliders from the Lakeland Fells - is preparing for its annual competition.
The Lakes Charity Classic is a friendly competition held over two days that brings together both Cumbria Soaring Club members and fliers from many other clubs across the country.
The aim of the event is to raise money for charity - this year The Vale of Lorton Community First Responders - and to have fun.
This year's event will be held on Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2, and will be based at Dalegarth House, Buttermere.
Eighty pilots will be flying in the event, split into A and B competitions.
