KING of the road John McGuinness got that podium feeling again as he enjoyed an excellent weekend in Northern Ireland.
The Morecambe marvel stormed to glory in the first Superbike race at the North West 200 series around the world famous triangle road circuit between Portstewart, Coleraine and Portrush.
McGuinness took full advantage after Kiwi Bruce Anstey crashed off his Suzuki and claimed the race after recording a nerve-twitching 123.01mph, breaking his own record for that event.
He was on course for a stunning Superbike double in the second race as well until Guy Martin forced him to miss a chicane meaning the local hero came in fourth.
To round off an excellent day around the 8.96-mile course, the HM Plant Honda star was fourth in the 600cc Supersport race, second in the 250cc event and second in the second Supersport race.
Anstey claimed a hat-trick with wins in both of the Supersport races as well as the Superstock.
