RENOWNED for her dry sense of humour and witty observations on men's bad habits, a night with Jo Brand was bound to be a colourful one.
Not for the easily offended, the audience roared with laughter at Jo's droll outlook on life, men, motherhood, and her recent makeover by TV style gurus Trinny and Suzanna.
She proudly told us that she had not stuck to the rules the two fashion sisters had given her and had gone back to wearing her usual black clothes. Her dress for the night, she joked, had been found in Anne Widdecombe's skip!
Jo even found the time to read The Westmorland Gazette on her brief stop in Kendal and decided to share some stories with the audience. Reading out a couple of articles from last week's edition that caught her eye, she injected her humour into the local tales of mattress dumping, teenage yobs, and local road works woe. Needless to say, tears of laughter raised the roof during her set.
