POLICE are appealing for information after two local men died in a head-on crash in North Yorkshire.
According to police, the passenger of a black BMW was confirmed dead at the scene and the driver died later at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary following the accident that took place on the A65 near Austwick.
Police say the BMW had been travelling towards Ingleton from Skipton when it was in collision with with a blue Audi hatchback that was travelling in the opposite direction. The BMW then hit a white Vauxhall van that was also heading towards Skipton.
The two men in the van were taken to hospital with minor injuries and the driver of the Audi was uninjured.
The accident happened at 11.10am on Tuesday and left the A65 closed for several hours.
A police spokesman said that the two men were believed to be local and asked anyone with any information to contact PC Steve Beckwith on 01423-539326.
