SHARP-EYED nature lovers are being asked to look out for an unusual butterfly which may flutter through the Yorkshire Dales this summer.
For the second year running, staff at the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority have teamed up with nature organisation, Butterfly Conservation, to try to find out more about the green hairstreak butterfly, which has started appearing two weeks early this year.
The creature (pictured) is unmistakeable because it is the only butterfly in this country with green wings, which close when it is perched, showing a green underside and white streaks.
