FROM the legendary riders of Ghengis Khan to the epic conflict of St George and the Dragon, a breathtaking production of Europe's largest and most spectacular equestrian touring theatre show is coming to South Lakeland.
The event will feature more than 30 fabulous horses such as the World's great Mongolian stunt riders, Spain's classic dancing horses and the magnificent "Royal Horses" of Europe in one unforgettable production - the Spirit of the HorseChimera.
Nine performances of the action-packed show will be staged in a specially designed 2,000-seat equestrian touring theatre for the first time at the Westmorland County Showground, at Crooklands, from Thursday, May 24 to Monday, May 30.
The equine stars include Arabians, Andalusians and Shetlands presented by international riders and trainers from seven countries.
Also back by public demand is Pegasus - the winged horse. With a wingspan of more than 24 feet this gentle and astounding fantasy horse is chosen to rescue the beautiful Delphine and challenge the evil monster - part lion, part serpent, part goat. Choreographed to a specially arranged musical score dramatic action and humour, Spirit of the HorseChimera weaves the magic of myth and legend through man's bonding with his oldest ally - the horse.
