SAMMY McIlroy heaped praise on his Morecambe marvels after they booked a place in the Conference play-offs with a 1-0 win at Kidderminster.
The Christie Park chief ripped into his Shrimps and challenged them to prove their worth after they turned in a horror show at Weymouth last week - and was delighted with the response at Aggborough.
Smiles McIlroy: "It's been a long hard week and a frustrating week because after a performance like Weymouth you want to get back as quick as you can.
"We did a professional job and defensively I thought we were superb.
"It is great to be in the play-offs and it's not over this week or last week it's over the 45 games that we have played over the season.
"The lads have been brilliant and they are in the top three of a very tough league and you can't ask for more than that, although we are a little bit disappointed that we are not second.
"We are delighted that we are in the play-offs and now we can concentrate on who ever we get."
