Every fourth year since he moved to Ravenstonedale in 2002, Elm Lodge owner Chris Harrison-Beck has made his grounds available for the village garden fete - and this year’s will be held on Saturday, July 18, starting at 1 pm.
There will be craft demonstrations and a tombola in the marquees, plus stalls selling cushions, cakes and a licensed bar. The ladies of St Oswald’s Church will be in charge of other refreshments, including cream teas and ice cream.
Children will be well catered for with pony rides, a play centre an obstacle course and lots of games.
An auction will be held at 3pm, including wine made with Elm Lodge grapes, a day’s fishing on the River Lune and other high-value items.
Entry to the fete is £1, with children under 12 free. All proceeds will be shared between St. Oswald’s Church in Ravenstonedale and the Great North Air Ambulance.
"Viv and I have worked hard to prepare Elm Lodge," said Chris. "With the help of good friends we’ve spread 64 tons of gravel to improve the paths in our grounds to welcome visitors on the day."
