SAMMY McIlroy ripped into his lacklustre Morecambe players after they blew a massive chance to book a play-off spot with a miserable under-performance at Weymouth.
The Shrimps crashed 2-1 in the Dorset sunshine and McIlroy was full of thunder afterwards blasting: "That wasn't good enough, simple as that.
"We can make excuses about fouls in the build up to Weymouth's goals - but I am not going down that line...we were disappointing in all areas from start to finish.
"That wasn't a Morecambe performance; that was not what we are about. I thought we were off the pace and did not get going.
"We are not in the play-offs yet and we will have to play a lot better in our last two games in order to get there.
"I am disappointed with the performance and we have a clear week now - and we will be better next Saturday at Kidderminster.
"We will have to be."
McIlroy was rocked on the eve of the game when Blackpool recalled loan star Matty Blinkhorn from his goal-laden spell at Christie Park.
But the Ulsterman played down that loss and added: "Blinky would not have played because he had a sore hip but it is Blackpool's prerogative to call their man back."
