LANCASTER CITY 0 Leigh RMI 0 LANCASTER City finally got out of the negative point zone as they drew 0-0 with Leigh RMI on Tuesday night - but the Dolly Blues could so easily have been celebrating their first home win in a year if they had taken their chances.
Barrie Stimpson's men had enough opportunities to win the game, especially in the second half when they took the match to the visitors.
Leon Gierke could have put them in front in the first period but shot over from 20 yards and Ryan Elderton was also off target before forcing a smart save out of John Lamb.
At the other end Kevin Rapley and Chris Simm were off target before Lancaster really stepped up the pace towards the end of the match.
Centre half Kevin Brown was denied by a brace Lamb save and Neil Uberschar was also foiled by the keeper.
Then, as the clock ran down, Aaron Helliwell shot over before Jordan Connorton saw an effort hacked off the line after he did well to round the floundering Lamb.
LANCASTER CITY: Brindle, Rigby, Marshall, Henry, Brown, Uberschar, Mulholland, Elderton, Sparks 9Connorton 68), Gierke (Love 68), Helliwell.
