Police investigating Grasmere car fire
POLICE are investigating the cause of a car fire in Grasmere in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).
Fire and rescue crews were called at 3.40am to reports of a Volkswagen Polo on fire close to the A591.
Firefighters, two wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel to put out the blaze.

A spokesperson said: “Police were asked to attend as it is thought the fire was started deliberately.”
Cumbria Police said: “We are conducting enquiries to ascertain the cause of the fire.”
