VIDEO footage of a Lar Gibbon at the Lake District Wildlife Park has captured the attention of millions of viewers.
Brian the Lar Gibbon in action has so far been seen by nine million people and the clip continues to be shared across the globe.
The seven seconds of video was shot by Amanda Dorman from Scotland who was visiting the park, near Keswick.
She posted it on her own Facebook page and it was shared more than 130,000 times before attracting the Lads Bible page which added the caption “Running across the landing naked when you forget your towel...”
This sent the video viral, hitting over 7,750,000 people and being shared across the world as well as on zoo forum pages.
Richard Robinson, Park Manager at the Lake District Wildlife Park said “Brian is the oldest Lar Gibbon in Europe, and is very fortunate to be here. His records begin in 1965 at Chester Zoo and he joined us in 2000.
"Brian, his lifetime partner Sooty and their youngsters have been entertaining our guests for years.
"They love swinging through the trees, walking round, grooming and sunbathing. There are hundreds of pictures and videos of the whole family, but none have caught the imagination like this video.
"The caption just goes to highlight how we interpret their actions as being very human like – it’s this that makes them so endearing.”
