CONFERENCE North strugglers Lancaster City lost 2-0 to Alfreton Town on Saturday as their season of trouble continues.
The Dolly Blues were unlucky, though, after they fell 2-0 behind to a first-half Ryan Clarke brace.
They outplayed Town for long periods after the break and had a goal disallowed but are still in negative points.
Meanwhile, Vale of Lune's hopes of success in rugby union's Lancashire Cup were ended by big boys Waterloo.
The Liverpudlians ran out 78-10 winners in the quarter-final at Powder House Lane.
