PROTESTERS have vowed to publicly break Windermere's 10mph speed restriction after the Lake District National Park Authority turned down a request for exemptions.
Members of the Keep Windermere Alive Association, along with blind waterskier Gerald Price, plan to invite lake wardens to watch as they take a powerboat to Windermere's placid waters in defiance of members' refusal to enter talks.
The protesters have also indicated their legal challenge to the controversial speed limit is heading for the courtroom after the LDNPA met behind closed doors on Wednesday to reject proposals which could have seen jet skis, water-skiers and power boats return to England's longest lake.
