SAMMY McIlroy wants his Morecambe men to kick on and avoid a Brewers' droop when they travel to Burton Albion on Saturday.
The Shrimps ended their mini-slump with Tuesday's battling 2-1 win over Aldershot Town - a result which propelled them back into fourth place in the Conference.
"The boys did well for me on Tuesday," says McIlroy. "And I hope they can kick on at Burton.
"It is a tough season and this month has been madness with games coming thick and fast every Saturday and Tuesday.
"It will not be easy at Burton but my players are full of character and determination - and we have quality in the squad as well."
Craig Stanley was rested on Tuesday but could be in line for a recall.
"Stan has been magnificent this season," adds the manager. "Not only for Morecambe but with his England duties as well and he needed a rest."
Michael Howard (hip) missed the Aldershot win but should be fit for Saturday, while Danny Adams (thigh) was forced off inside half-an-hour.
"Danny went a bit tight but should be okay for Burton," says McIlroy.
Jim Bentley, who passed a fitness test just before the Aldershot game, will be fit while McIlroy was full of praise for Garry Hunter, who starred in midfield on Tuesday.
"Little Garry has waited a long time for his chance and he did ever so well," says the Ulsterman.
"That is tribute to our squad when people like Garry and Fraser McLachlan don't always get in but take their chance when they do."
