A FORMER Ulverston schoolboy has hit the big time as the face of a fun-packed science and invention show for children on BBC television.
Greg Foot, 23, who was a pupil at Pennington Primary School and Ulverston Victoria High School, has been presenting Whizz Whizz Bang Bang on BBC1 at 4pm every day for the past two weeks. The final show will be broadcast this afternoon (Friday).
The programme gives children the chance to realise their wacky inventions, including such unique and zany creations as a hoverboard, a robotic horse, an underwater canoe and an automated paperboy.
Mr Foot, who grew up in Swarthmoor, said: "I was just over the moon to get my first presenting job on BBC1. It was great fun while also being really hard work. As well as presenting I was also quite involved with research and helping to develop the shows.".
