THE owner of a wildlife park has received another devastating blow just weeks before hundreds of visitors are expected to visit over the Easter holidays.
In the space of a just over a week, three owls have been found dead at Furness Owls, owned by Steve Jones, of Ulverston, and his wife Lynne.
It comes after two rare African Marsh Owls were found decapitated - the head of one of the owls was found placed on top of a pole inside an aviary at the centre. Another of the same breed disappeared completely last August.
This time, two male burrowing owls, both about one-year-old, were found dead, last Saturday (March 10) and a three-year-old tropical screech owl was found dead on Tuesday morning.
