TWO South Lakeland businesses will be going for glory at the national tourism industry's equivalent of the Oscars next month.
The Low Wood Hotel, near Ambleside, has been shortlisted for the excellence in business tourism prize, while Skelwith Fold Caravan Park, near Ambleside, is in the running for the holiday park of the year section.
There will be a Cumbrian presence in a third award section, with Averil Dawson and Ann Cook, of The Beacon, in Whitehaven, competing for the excellence in customer service accolade.
All three booked their places in the national final of the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence after winning the North West regional heat.
Ian Stephens, chief executive of Cumbria Tourism, hailed the hat-trick of successes, saying: "Cumbria's tourism industry has yet again demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence.
