JUST four months after the public voted Brough Playground the local charity they wanted National Lottery money to fund, work has begun on the state-of-the art project.
A telephone vote-in on prime time ITV secured the £50,000 lottery grant for the Play Park committee who have been working for more than three years to create a play ground on land at Croft Close allocated for a children's facility 30 years ago.
Now the committee hopes the Play Dale Playground, who designed the scheme in consultation with local primary school children, will be completed by the end of the Easter holiday.
Chairman of the Play Park committee Chris Christopher said: "We were hoping it would be completed in time for the Easter holiday, but the money didn't come through in time. But we are hopeful of it being completed by mid-April.
"While construction is under way, we would like parents to warn their children about the dangers of building sites, and asked them to stay away while the work is completed."
