LANCASTER City suffered more woe in the rain as Worksop Town stole all three Conference North points from Giant Axe thanks to a headed hat-trick from centre-half Anthony Jackson.
The lumbering Jackson rose three times in the last 25 minutes to inflict more pain on City, who took the game to the visitors only to pay for their naivety at set-pieces.
That's been the story of City's season. The effort and commitment cannot be faulted - but players who have been promoted in some cases nine leagues up the football ladder do struggle at times against experienced old hands.
Worksop had the luxury of having former Sheffield Wednesday man Tony Crane on the bench - he played for the Owls in the Premier League - while Kevin Dawson starred for Sheffield United a few seasons ago.
And while Lancaster are full of enthusiastic running and effort, too many of their players have made the big step up from North Lancs League football - and there is a world of difference, especially when Worksop have a side full of experience.
Old hands Ryan Elderton and Neil Uberschar are full of creativity - but it is a no-win situation for the Dolly Blues, although you do get the feeling that boss Barrie Stimpson will turn things around.
Stimpson and his assistant Neil Crossley never stop encouraging their young charges from the sideline and in an even opening it looked as though Lancaster were capable of matching Worksop.
Elderton's free-kick slammed into the wall, while Uberschar had a shot blocked, although Town nearly went in front when Luke Staton's horribly miss hit cross deceived keeper Ross Liddicott only to bounce to safety off the crossbar.
Liddicott made a smart save from Nat Jarman before all the good work was undone as Jackson rose high to head home on 67 minutes.
He then got up to make it 2-0 from a corner 12 minutes from time before a third goal followed from another corner three minutes later.
It was cruel on City, they did not deserve to finish 3-0 down.
